DuckDuckGo browser comes to Windows in beta: Features, how to download and more – Times of India
DuckDuckGo browser for Windows is rolling out
Starting today, Windows users will be able to try out the privacy-focused browser on their PC in beta. According to DuckDuckGo, this was the most requested product from users.
DuckDuckGo for Windows: Features
DuckDuckGo web browser comes with DuckDuckGo as the default search engine. Additionally, the web browser comes with Duck Player which claims to prevent YouTube from building an ad profile for users by preventing it from tracking users and from placing targeted ads. It also prevents user-tracked recommendations.
Other features of the web browser are similar to what we’ve already seen with the Mac beta. This includes automatic cookie popups, email protection, password management and more.
Here are some common features highlighted in the blog post:
Duck Player: A built-in player that lets you watch YouTube videos without privacy-invading ads and keeps video views from impacting your recommendations.
Tracker blocking: The browser comes with 3rd-party Tracker Loading Protection, for example, blocks the hidden trackers from companies like Google and Facebook lurking on other websites before they get a chance to load.
Smarter Encryption: This ensures that more of the websites you visit and the links you click are encrypted, relative to other browsers.
Cookie Pop-up Management: A tool that automatically selects the most private options available and hides cookie consent pop-ups.
The Fire Button: This burns recent browsing data in one click.
