Draymond Green to Ja Morant: ‘Why are you on Instagram Live so much?’

Draymond Green has found the culprit to all of Ja Morant’s problems – and it has nothing to do with the guns.

“I just don’t understand why they’re on Instagram Live so much,” Green questioned while scratching his head on The Draymond Green Show.

“I just don’t get it. By the way, once you were in trouble the first time on Instagram Live, you guys probably should stay away from Instagram Live,” he said. “It hasn’t proven to be beneficial – at all.”

Fans have not taken kindly to Morant’s actions, and seemingly everyone has had advice for the 23-year-old.

“I saw a couple of people screaming, ‘Lock him up,’ ‘Lock him up,’ – it’s actually not illegal to have a gun a lot of places in America,” Green said of the outcry for punishment of Morant. “Like you all don’t know if he actually broke a law. You don’t know if he had a license; you don’t know if the gun was licensed to him. Most people don’t know if he was in an open-carry state.”

“The whole lock him up, he’s a thug stuff? Let’s stop, let’s stop,” Green said.

But these actions are costing Morant millions of dollars and counting by the day.

In March, Morant was first seen with a gun in his possession on Instagram Live while at a nightclub in Colorado, and it likely cost him $39 million in his upcoming Grizzlies contract.

“You’re trying to build a business, a substantial sneaker business. Kids drive sneaker sales; kids’ parents buy shoes. And those children’s parents aren’t impressed with what they’re seeing.”

Nike recently signed Morant to a massive sneaker contract worth at least $12 million prior to the first incident.

But many are speculating that Morant could get dropped by Nike altogether thanks to this latest incident – with rumors fueled by Nike removing Morant’s signature shoe from their app and website.

“It’s giving off this like gangster type vibe, and like I said, I’m not going come up here and say ‘Ja you not gangster’ because I don’t know him well enough to know what he is,” Green continued.

“But a lot of gangsters that I do know are not flashing guns on Instagram. I don’t think he’s going to stop carrying guns; if that’s his thing, that’s his thing. He probably won’t stop, but stop showing ’em.” Green advised. “It’s actually getting you in trouble.”

Morant’s second incident has frightened NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who said he was “shocked” and “assuming the worst” about the budding star point guard.

The NBA has not decided on a punishment and has plenty of time to think about it as the Grizzlies were eliminated from the playoffs against the Lakers in the first round.
