Drake releases poetry book, hints a new album is on the way

Drake has made the leap from music to poetry with a debut book, “Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness”.

The Toronto-born rapper and producer first announced the book on his Instagram on Friday. “I don’t know if I have ever wanted people to buy or support something more in my life,” Drake wrote about the project in the caption.

The 168-page paperback poetry collection is available through select retailers, like his website, Drake Related, and Phaidon Press, the publisher.

Co-written by Kenza Samir, Drake’s longtime friend and songwriting collaborator, the book features “provocative musings … on fame, romance, and relationships,” offering an “unfiltered view of the artist’s inner world.”

According to the publisher’s website, Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, has been “writing and having fun with poetry as a means of personal expression for quite some time.”

He promoted the release in newspapers on Saturday — including in the Star — with bold blue ads to match the book’s cover. The ads featured a QR code leading to the website, titlesruineverything.com, where Drake teased new music.

“I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS,” the site’s lone message read.

No release date for the album has been announced, but it would be Drake’s eighth studio album, following his June 2022 release “Honestly, Nevermind”.

Drake is set to embark on his It’s All A Blur tour this summer, along with 21 Savage, with 29 dates across North America. He’ll be visiting his hometown with two shows at Scotiabank Arena, on Oct. 5 and 7.
