Lynette Hardaway, also known as Diamond of the political duo ‘Diamond and Silk,’ has died aged 51.

Her death was confirmed on Diamond and Silk’s official Facebook page on Monday night.

‘The World just lost a True Angel and Warrior Patriot for Freedom, Love, and Humanity!’ the post read.

‘Diamond blazed a trail, founded on her passion and love for the entire race of humanity.’

Hardaway and her sister Rochelle ‘Silk’ Richardson, first gained traction as Diamond and Silk among conservative circles during the 2016 election after posting a series of social media offerings in support of former president Donald Trump.

The 76-year-old American politician also announced the news on social media, writing: ‘Really bad news for Republicans and frankly, ALL Americans.’

‘Our beautiful Diamond, of Diamond and Silk, has just passed away at her home in the State she loved so much, North Carolina.’

He continued: ‘Silk was with her all the way, and at her passing. There was no better TEAM anywhere, or at any time! Diamond’s death was totally unexpected, probably her big and precious HEART just plain gave out. Rest In Peace our Magnificent Diamond, you will be greatly missed!’

The duo who claimed they were Trump’s ‘most loyal supporters,’ also appeared at several White House events during his presidency and occasionally spoke at his campaign rallies.

In November, the pair’s Twitter account asked supporters to pray for Hardaway but did not say. Days earlier, it had posted about her 51st birthday.

According to the Daily Beast, Hardaway briefly returned to her show the following month and dismissed reports that she had been hospitalized with coronavirus. She filmed her final episode on December 15.
