Do you want to experience the magical world of Harry Potter?

Gloucester Cathedral is home to a lot of history. It was opened during 1089 and is an ongoing tourist attraction.

Many royals and well known people have been buried in this very cathedral. For example; Robert Curthose, the eldest son of William the Conqueror and Edward the II of England.

The Gloucester cathedral has been featured extremely heavily in the first two Harry Potter movies, and shortly in the sixth. It’s history with the Harry Potter franchise is well known, and is therefore a magnet for many fans to visit.

The cathedral acted as the hog warts corridors,  gryffindor commin room and the very famous; “The chamber of secrets Has opened Scene”

It is an extremely famous cathedral in England and has reached hundreds of thousands of tourists over the years, including myself.

The Gloucester Cathedral being used was indeed aroused by the author JK Rowling, who was actually born in Gloucestershire. She used this very county for inspiration for her characters and stories!

Not only is the cathedral a wonderful attraction for potterheads, places elsewhere in Gloucestershire have references to Harry Potter, such as the university of  Gloucestershire where they have their very own Dumbledore Army!

The best thing of it all is the fact that the cathedral is free of entry and includes a shop and cafe! You can truly make yourself comfortable in this wizardry palace.

“The architecture is beautiful”- Wania

So, if you’re ever going out on a trip in England, and are a huge Harry Potter fan, don’t be shy to stop by Gloucestershire Cathedral!
