Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins, Cherry Pie Picache to star in upcoming film ‘Firefly’
Dingdong Dantes will be returning to the big screen as the lead star of the upcoming film “Firefly” alongside Max Collins and Cherry Pie Picache.
The film tells the story of a magical island filled with fireflies, according to a report from GMA-7’s 24 Oras on Wednesday, March 15, and will be helmed by the network’s Public Affairs group.
Dantes, Collins, and Picache will be joined by Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Epi Quizon, Alessandra de Rossi, and Yayo Aguila.
“Napakagandang kwento po nito,” Dantes said in the report. “In fact, before pandemic pa lang, narinig ko na ‘yung kwento nito, and mapalad ako na nai-share sa akin ang project na ito even before [na-confirm ito].”
(This is a very beautiful story. In fact, before the pandemic, I heard about its story, and I was lucky enough to receive this project even before [it was confirmed].)
“Firefly” will be directed by Zig Dulay, however, additional details are yet to be revealed to the public.
It was also confirmed that Dantes will be appearing in an upcoming teleserye which has yet to kick off its pre-production stage. The actor admitted that while there would be an “overlap” in filming the upcoming projects, he noted that it’s a privilege to be part of its cast members.
“Definitely magkakaroon ng overlap pero kakayanin, tsaka naniniwala ako na may timing po talaga para sa mga tamang projects. And kung para sa iyo, para [siya] sa iyo,” he added.
(Definitely, there would be an overlap in filming. But I’ll do my best. And I also believe that timing for the right projects will come. And if it’s meant for you, it will be given to you.)
Dantes, who’s dubbed as the network’s “Primetime King,” is best known for starring in the Kapuso series “Encantadia,” “Etheria,” “Marimar,” “Dyesebel,” “Endless Love,” and “Alyas Robin Hood,” among many others. EDV
