Dick and Angel Strawbridge in ‘best job in the world’ dig after Channel 4 axe
The Strawbridges told their 328,000 Instagram followers that they were “still on a high” after hosting their “first wedding of the season”.
Dick Strawbridge, 63, and Angel Adoree, 45, boasted they have “the best job in the world”, suggesting the couple are unfazed over their hit Channel 4 show, Escape to the Chateau, being axed by the broadcaster.
In what appeared to be a cryptic dig, the TV stars shared a stunning photo of newlyweds celebrating in the gardens of their French chateau, which was the focus on their Channel 4 show.
The Strawbridges penned alongside the photo: “A very good morning to you!
“Still on a high after the first wedding of the season! This really is the best job in the world.

“Have a great week! XXX,” the duo concluded.
Fans took to the comments section to share their sadness over not being able to follow the family’s renovation journey on Escape to the Chateau, after Channel 4 confirmed they had cut ties with Dick and Angel.
One person lamented: “I have watched your luvely family from the beginning and have learned so much from both of you, will be sooooo sad if you don’t do anything else on tv. Xxxxx.”(sic)
Another added: “Well Angel & Dick we are reading a very one sided story today, one we can’t believe after watching you all for a very long time..
“You have brought ideas..motivation..skills..with so much love & Happiness that is now instilled in our hearts..and I am sure millions more will back me in saying..Don’t let this End like this..start your own productions..These companies bring people / families like you into our lives / and we get to feel we are part of you…then they find something different..
“What have we now Love Island Naked Attraction…what will our lives be if you are not there…Don’t leave with heavy heart,s…You are all loved very much xxxx.”(sic)
Escape to the Chateau enchanted viewers as they followed the pair’s complete renovation of the 19th-century Chateau de la Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France.
However, last week, Channel 4 announced the end of Dick and Angel’s working relationship with the broadcaster.
A spokesperson for Channel 4 told Express.co.uk: “Following a review, we have decided not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”
Two Rivers Media also added: “We can confirm that we will no longer work with Dick and Angel and cannot comment further at the moment.”
Dick and Angel previously told fans the series was coming to an end last year, explaining the decision was for family reasons, as their two children, Arthur, nine, and Dorothy, eight, were getting older and they felt the need to “protect” them from the cameras.
