Diablo 4 Patch 1.0.3a Addresses Client Crashes Introduced With Patch 1.0.3; Also Packs Undocumented Change

Blizzard has deployed Diablo 4 patch 1.0.3a some hours ago, which addresses client crashing issues introduced with this week’s 1.0.3 update.

Some days ago, Blizzard released a major Diablo 4 patch that packed numerous bug fixes and improvements as well as buffs to class and aspects. In addition, this “big” patch increased Nightmare dungeon experience gain. Unfortunately, as reported by various players, last week’s update also introduced some client crashes. Yesterday, Blizzard already released a hotfix for patch 1.0.3 that offered stability improvements. Also, the patch addressed “an issue where the Epic Adventure achievement wouldn’t properly unlock”.

Fast forward a couple of hours, and Diablo 4’s dev team has now rolled out another update for the game – patch 1.03a. According to Blizzard, this patch should resolve various in-game crashes.

“Addressed multiple instances where the Diablo IV client would crash in game”, the official patch notes read. On Twitter, Blizzard’s Global Community Development Director, Adam Fletcher writes the following: “There is a small PC client patch for DiabloIV that is now available. This is to help address some crash reports we have seen since 1.0.3 earlier this week. Team will continue to monitor on other related crash reports from users.”

Interestingly, as spotted by Wowhead, this new patch also includes an ‘under-the-hood’ change that hasn’t been documented in the release notes. Apparently, the patch increases the Lucky Hit Chance of the Rogue’s Death Trap skill from 4% to 8%.

As promised by Diablo 4’s development team, the release date for Diablo 4 Season 1 will be announced next week. Stay tuned.

Diablo 4 was released worldwide last month for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. As revealed by Blizzard, the game harvested over $666 million in revenue across all platforms in just five days. “Blizzard Entertainment’s fastest-selling game of all time blazed past $666 million in sales in less than a week since its June 6 launch, exceeding the worldwide box office of all horror films released in 2023 combined”, Blizzard wrote in an official press release last month. “If Diablo IV were a movie, it would have had the biggest launch week of 2023.”
