Destiny 2 Weapon Changes Include Warden’s Law Rework, Craftable Dead Man’s Tale
Bungie’s latest Destiny 2 update includes a deep dive on the Warden’s Law hand cannon, which has been reworked ahead of its inclusion in the Nightfall rewards for Season 22. As an added bonus, Bungie also shared that the Dead Man’s Tale exotic scout rifle will be craftable from Season 22.
The Warden’s Law was one of the weapons announced for the Season 22 loot pool in a recent Bungie update. Here’s the full list for those of you who missed out:
- Crucible
- Unending Tempest – Stasis Submachine Gun
- Strikes
- Luna Regolith III – Solar Sniper Rifle
- Gambit
- Qua Xaphan V – Void Machine Gun
- Nightfall
- Warden’s Law – Kinetic Hand Cannon
- Pre Astyanax IV – Solar Precision Bow
- Iron Banner
- The Guiding Sight – Strand Scout Rifle
- Point of the Stag – Arc Bow
- Trials of Osiris
- Igneous Hammer – Solar Hand Cannon
- Cataphract GL3 – Strand Heavy Grenade Launcher
The Forsaken-era hand cannon was chosen for its uniqueness, the developer update says, though the rework has changed a lot about how the hand cannon functions. First and foremost, the firing pattern has been changed from a spread, where multiple shots fire at the same time like a shotgun, to a burst, where the shots are fired one after the other from a single trigger pull.
The Warden’s Law now has a two-round burst, which Bungie admits still makes it challenging to land both shots, so the damage has been bumped up accordingly. The Warden’s Law can do up to 90 damage against a player in a burst, dealing 25 for a body shot or 45 for a crit. The burst delay has also been reduced, bringing the Warden’s Law’s time-to-kill down to 0.93s from the standard 1.0s. You can read the full details of the rework in Bungie’s update.
In a small addition to the recent rewards update, Bungie has revealed that the Dead Man’s Tale exotic scout rifle has been added to the loot pool for the Exotic Mission Rotator whenever Presage is available–an update that means Dead Man’s Tale will also become craftable. Because players can now craft the DMT or aquire it through the Exotic Mission Rotator, the weapon will no longer be available from Xûr in Season 22, however.
