Denver’s best tacos: Announcing the winner of our 2022 March Madness Taco Bracket
The results are in. After five weeks, five rounds and 32 teams, you’ve crowned a winner in the 2022 March Madness Taco Bracket.
On Monday, Kiké’s Red Tacos beat Tacos Selene in the finals of our March taco Madness. The 18-month-old food truck received 71% of your votes in the final round of competition.
For those who haven’t tried Kiké’s (pronounced KEE-kays), you’ll want to go for the birria (pronounced BEER-ee-yuh). Once you’ve got the names down, order a quesataco with consomé for dipping (that way you get the rich broth in addition to the juicy, slow-cooked beef).
You’ll get four quesatacos with consomé for $14.25 or a single one for $3.50 (cheese-free birria tacos are $2.75 apiece).
And the place sells out fast. Since opening in late 2020, Kiké’s has won over a loyal fan base that has followed the truck to three parked locations. Soon, the family behind the mobile operation hopes to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant for more production space and more birria each day.
Be sure to read all about Kiké’s and Tacos Selene — the worthy runner-up in our competition — in our profiles.
Congrats to all of the taco’testants, and thanks for participating in the fun. Now go eat some tacos!
