Denise Van Outen has split from her fiancé Eddie Boxshall following seven years together.
The singer and actress, 47, confirmed the news in a sombre Instagram post, revealing it was a ‘difficult decision’ to call time on their romance.
Denise was regularly seen on Channel 4’s Gogglebox alongside Eddie, also 47, and broke her silence on speculation she was now single.
Sharing a black and white photo of her walking her dogs on the beach, Denise wrote: ‘Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie. It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple.’
She continued: ‘I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made.’
The Steph’s Packed Lunch regular requested privacy at this time, in particular for their children.
Denise is a mum to Betsy, 11, from her marriage to Lee Mead, while Eddie has two children from a previous relationship – 21-year-old Leah and 25-year-old son Jordan.
A spokesperson for Denise told The Sun that ‘her priority is looking after her daughter and continuing to work on the many exciting projects she has coming up this year.’
The couple had planned to tie the knot this year.
Denise and Eddie first met in 2014 when they were set up on a blind date by presenter Zoe Hardman.
Denise previously shared with Hello magazine that ‘Zoe knew Eddie through an ex boyfriend and felt sure we’d hit it off.’
‘She kept telling me that he was just like me and she was spot on,’ Denise admitted.
The couple were regulars on Celebrity Gogglebox, and were often making fans laugh with their quick wit and flirty banter.
