Demons star caught blasting AFL boss on live TV
Demons star Christian Petracca was caught by TV cameras giving AFL boss Gill McLachlan a spray over the pronunciation of his name during the Brownlow Medal count.
McLachlan repeatedly mispronounced Petracca’s name as Petrakka (the correct pronunciation is Pet-rar-ka) and after the round 16 votes were read out, the 26-year-old was caught correcting the boss under his breath.
“It’s Petracca for f—‘s sake,” he clearly said to teammate Max Gawn.

McLachlan is on the panel to read out the votes at the AFL’s night of nights every year.
Unfortunately for Petracca, he is stepping down from his role at the end of the year, and will not get the chance to correct himself at next season’s Brownlow.
The Demon’s midfielder finished with 24 votes – five behind winner Patrick Cripps who won the medal with a best-on-ground performance in the final round for the Blues against Collingwood.
Cripps registered 29 votes to edge 2020 winner Lachie Neale (28), Gold Coast weapon Touk Miller (27), Fremantle youngster Andrew Brayshaw (25) and Melbourne tough nut Clayton Oliver (25).
Neale led the count for the majority of the night and headed into round 23 leading with Miller on 26 votes, but the Brisbane ace drew only one more vote, the Gold Coast star failed to poll and Cripps hauled in three to win a thriller.
