Deen City Farm – Isabel Clayden, Notre Dame School
Being a riding school volunteer for over a year now, I have seen first hand the impact that this charity has had on children and families. I have seen children’s faces light up as they have their first pony ride, and parents overjoyed to see their child having so much fun petting the rabbits. I love helping out in the riding school, getting to spend so much time around my favourite animals whilst learning such crucial details about how to take care of such majestic creatures. Helping out such an amazing charity has been such an enjoyable and worthwhile time.
Charities like these are so important in communities like mine as they get children outside and having fun while also learning about animals and their benefits. I have made so many incredible friends as well during my time at the farm, and could not imagine my life if I left. I know many other people whose lives have been impacted by this charity and their volunteering experience not just in the riding school, but in the main farm too!
“Deen City Farm has always been a home from home for me. Being able to help children face their fears and meet and learn about new animals always makes my day. Not only are the staff excellent at their jobs, the animals bring so much joy and laughter to everyone. It’s a way of communicating with people even if you don’t speak their language. The farm is highly valued in the community and one of the best places I have ever helped. I’m so appreciative that i am able to help them in the slightest way as they have given me so much too.” – Olivia, 17
“An amazing farm with the cutest animals, yummiest food and lots of fun activities.” – Naomi, 16
We hope to welcome you to the farm soon!
