It’s interesting to note that the minimum PC system requirements for Deathloop suggest the use of a hard disk, relatively low memory requirements as well as five-year-old graphics cards, which suggests that the game could theoretically run on a last-gen PS4 console. Regardless, Deathloop remains a PS5 console exclusive for at least a year.
The PC version of the game will include additional settings such as a Field of View slider. The game will also include support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), which is the company’s way of addressing the same problems that NVIDIA’s DLSS tackles, only without the need for machine learning hardware. AMD’s solution is a smart upscaling technique which can work across a variety of graphics cards from both NVIDIA and AMD. Given that Deathloop’s PC version will require fairly beefy hardware for a good experience, the inclusion of FSR is a good sign as it will help players on a budget get some additional gains in performance.
There is no mention of ray tracing on Bethesda’s blog post, despite its developer mentioning the feature recently. At the very least, Deathloop will make use of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback on the PS5. It remains to be seen if those features will be supported when playing with the controller on PC.
