Death Stranding 2 and Sony’s Upcoming FPS Could Reportedly Come Out in 2024

There has been a lot of excitement and anticipation about Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2 after it was announced at the Game Awards 2022. While there is no official date announced, a recent leak suggests that the game will come out sometime in 2024.

The leak comes from the ArtStation profile of character artist Frank Aliberti, which states that Death Stranding 2 will come out in 2024. Of course, the profile is now updated and the information is now removed, but it gives us a look into when the game is expected to finish development and release to the public.

The profile also listed an “upcoming first-person shooter” for PlayStation Studios Visual Arts. This title could be from Firewalk Studios, as that is the only confirmed FPS title PlayStation Studios is working on.

The announcement trailer for Death Stranding 2 at the Game Awards 2022 confirmed some members of the cast. It also hinted at some developments in the story of the game. However, details about Kojima’s project are still very sparse. Fans will have to wait to know more about the sequel.

Death Stranding is a very polarising game, with many either loving it or hating it outright. This makes it an interesting title, as both groups who liked and disliked the first game will look forward to what Kojima has in store for them with the next instalment.

Kojima revealed at the Game Awards that he rewrote Death Stranding 2 after the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

“I had the story written before the pandemic, but after experiencing the pandemic, I rewrote the whole thing from scratch,” he told host Geoff Keighley after being asked how the pandemic affected the game. “I also didn’t want to predict any more future, so I rewrote it.”
