David Mirvish gets ‘sorted’ into a Hogwarts house in honour of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’
What Hogwarts house do you belong to?
“Harry Potter” mania appears to be with us once again, what with the 20th anniversary of the first film, the announcement of an HBO Max reunion special and, here in Toronto, tickets going on sale for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”
So producer David Mirvish of Mirvish Productions got himself “sorted” with the help of the Harry Potter Fan Club app and actor Hailey Alexis Lewis, who plays Rose Granger-Weasley in the Toronto version of “Cursed Child,” which begins May 31, 2022 at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre.
“My children were sorted into Hogwarts houses long ago,” said Mirvish in a news release. “I had no excuse to not do the same, especially as we are gearing up for the production here.” You can see the results in this video.
Anyone with a hankering to find out if they belong to Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin can go to wizardingworld.com or download the app.
Local tickets for “Cursed Child,” starring Trevor White, Gregory Prest and Sarah Afful, go on sale at mirvish.com Dec. 1 at 9:45 a.m. in honour of Platform 93/4 at King’s Cross station.
The play begins 19 years after Harry (White), Ron (Prest) and Hermione (Afful) saved the wizarding world.
It also stars Trish Lindström as Ginny Potter, Luke Kimball as Albus Potter, Brad Hodder as Draco Malfoy, Thomas Mitchell Barnet as Scorpius Malfoy, Sara Farb as Delphi Diggory, Fiona Reid as Professor McGonagall/Dolores Umbridge and Steven Sutcliffe as Severus Snape.
