Dark Horse’s Deal With Steve Niles & Shannon Denton’s Monster Forge

Monster Forge Productions is an IP farm co-founded by Shannon Eric Denton and Steve Niles that “focuses on a spectrum of horror properties, ranging from light monster fare for children to full-blown adult scares. Monster Forge enters the entertainment space with a multi-platform production division bringing their monstrous library of titles and creator relationships to film, television, interactive entertainment, gaming, and merchandising.” Plenty of their shared creations are being repped by Monster Forge, including 30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre and October Faction. It could well be that these series may get revived away from previous publishers and at Dark Horse Comics.
Steve Niles is the co-creator of 30 Days of Night, The October Faction, Criminal Macabre: A Cal McDonald Mystery, Simon Dark, Mystery Society, and Frankenstein Alive! Alive! as well as a writer on Spawn and Batman: Gotham County Line. Previously, he formed a joint venture production company, Creep International, with Rob Zombie.
Shannon Eric Denton is a comic book creator, animator, producer and director, working on Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Community, Con Man, Ally McBeal, Las Vegas, US of Tara, X-Men, Spider-Man, Silver Surfer, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers and Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles. In 2000 he founded Komikwerks,and had written and drawn comics including Supreme, Grunts, Deadpool, Common Foe, Knight Rider, X-Files, Vampirella, Actionopolis, Spawn, Prophet, The Revenant and more. and produced SyFy’s series Con Man with Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion.
