Dancing On Ice chaos after Brendan Cole’s partner Vanessa Bauer contracts Covid

ITV’s Dancing On Ice has been thrown into chaos after professional dancer Vanessa Bauer, partner of contestant Brendan Cole, was forced into Covid isolation after a positive test. The upshot of this is that Strictly star Brendan will now need to pair up with a new partner for this weekend’s show.

Vanessa, 25, and Brendan, 45, had only just survived the dance-off on Sunday and now head into musicals week in turmoil. A Dancing on Ice spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, Vanessa Bauer is unable to skate this weekend after testing positive for Covid-19.

“We look forward to Vanessa returning to the competition soon. Brendan Cole will still perform in this Sunday’s show and will be partnered with professional skater Brendyn Hatfield.”

Pro skater Brendyn had previously been paired with contestant and S-Club 7 star Rachel Stevens but the couple crashed out of the competition in just week two. Brendan and Brendyn will perform to Beggin’ by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons from the musical Jersey Boys at the weekend as they bid to stay in the competition for one more week. With such a short amount of time to get used to their partnership though it’s going to be a very tough ask.

Brendan and Brendyn will be hoping to strike up a good partnership before this weekend’s show

Brendan said: “I am absolutely gutted that Vanessa is unable to skate this weekend. I know she would have put together another fantastic routine. However, and with Vanessa’s blessing I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to create something fantastic for Musicals Week with Brendyn.
