Dan Walker ‘gutted’ as Prince Louis missing from Coronation Concert

Dan Walker, 46, took to Twitter to exclaim: “Absolutely gutted that Louis isn’t at the #CoronationConcert.”

The 5News presenter suggested Prince Louis was absent from the event as it disrupted his usual bedtime routine, adding: “The whole thing should have been brought forward.”

The concert kicked off shortly after 8pm, but – although his siblings Charlotte and George were both visible in the audience – Louis was absent from the festivities.

As the hashtag #whereislouis started trending, some of Dan’s 803,000 Instagram followers replied in agreement.

“I concur, it’s not like he’s even got to get up for school in the morning!” @j_s_p_1984 exclaimed.

@sunnyflower20 chimed in: “I love Prince Louis, he is so real and authentic. Too young to be restricted by the rules and regulations of Royalty xxx.”

@dinkydip suggested she’d been looking out for him in the audience, adding: “Me too!! I wanted to see Louis! Im here for his classic facial expressions and top dance moves.”

@HelenMahdia agreed: “Ditto! I was soooooo looking forward to him entertaining us”, while @SteveDay17 declared “The little fella’s comedy gold!” (sic)

However @GillyUsborne stated that although he was a “pleasure” to see, “He’s better off in bed… He’d be making a load of funny faces!”

Louis’s “adorable” and very distinctive expressions have had royal fans in stitches during the Coronation, including pouting, yawning and opening his mouth wide in a series of comedic facial twists.

It’s been suggested that Louis “stole the show” on the day his grandfather was crowned, even making national news headlines when he briefly disappeared during the ceremony.

BBC presenter Jon Kay sent out an alarmed message telling of his absence from his usual place by Kate and William’s side, only to tweet later: “Phew. He’s back.”

Though Louis might have let out the occasional yawn or sometimes been overwhelmed due to his tender age, he often looked thrilled as his grandfather was crowned.

Tweets about him were sympathetic, with @natpirks reasoning: “They said he’d need a break after a while as he’s only 5, bless him.”

Meanwhile, @JonquilLucy added: “I wondered that – a bit too much for a little one. They will have had someone on hand – a nanny? – to take him away when he was getting bored.”

@sharon_RAROC chuckled: “Oh bless him, he did really well to last as long as he did. I half expected him to go and sit on grandpa’s lap!”
