Dad forces a mum and her baby out of his plane seat – and people are on HIS side

A CONFLICTED father has shared his experience of having to force a mum and her baby out of the plane seats he booked for his family.

The 37-year-old dad thought that he was in the right in the difficult situation and wanted to know what the public felt.

He took to Reddit to explain how he was recently travelling with his wife, 34, to another country with his own child.

He said that he had booked a seat that was specifically for babies because his child was only a few months old.

However, when the family boarded the plane there was a woman sitting in his seat with her own baby.

The father said: “I asked her to move but she said that her baby was a few weeks old and needed the seat.”

While sympathetic, he explained that they obviously needed the seat too as they had their own baby.

Despite this, the woman still refused to move and begged them to let her have the seat as the baby was under a month old.

In response, the dad told her he had paid money for the seat and that she should have booked herself a seat with a baby chair.

And he claims the woman got up angry and called him a massive a**hole.

He said: “I don’t think I’m in the wrong here but it was obvious the baby was crying most of the flight.”

The dad also added more information, saying: “I forgot to mention there weren’t much of these seats and they ended up being overbooked and that’s why she was unable to get a seat of her own.”

But now he’s wondering what others think of the situation and Reddit users were quick to share their opinion – with the majority in support of the father.

One said: “You paid for the seat and needed it as much as she did. Her poor planning doesn’t make you the a**hole.”

“It’s the airlines problem not yours,” another added:

And a third thought that the woman was entitled, they said: “Seriously. It’s like the woman was saying her baby is more important than your baby and so she’s entitled to your seat.”

A fourth Redditor was of the opinion that the woman was hoping to emotionally manipulate a kind-hearted passenger.

“She was hoping that whomever paid for the seat would feel bad and she would be able to have it for free,” they wrote.
