Cyberpunk 2077 Looks out of This World With Path Tracing Overdrive and Over 100 Mods in New 4K Video
Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be one of the most visually impressive open-world games of the past few years, thanks to the introduction of full path-tracing and the many mods that were released for the game since its release in December 2020.
A new 4K resolution video shared by Digital Dreams showcases the game running in the experimental path tracing Overdrive Mode, the Superpopulation Mod, and over 100 other mods, which bring the game’s visuals to unprecedented heights.
If the base Cyberpunk 2077 can look like this, one has to wonder how CD Projekt Red will push the visuals of the game further with the Phantom Liberty expansion, which launches this September on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S only. The Polish developer recently updated the game’s PC requirements to better reflect what resolution and framerate players can achieve with their systems while confirming the end of support for regular HDDs. With other big open-world games like Starfield also requiring an SSD to play, it seems like the time has come for old mechanical drives to retire, at least for certain types of games.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. More information on the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion, whose director will also lead the development of the second entry in the series, can be found here.
