Crypt Of The NecroDancer Developer Announces Publishing Label
Crypt of The NecroDancer Developer, Brace Yourself Games, has announced that they will be opening a new publishing label, appropriately called ‘Brace Yourself Publishing‘.
In their press report, the publishers address the hardships of gaming development, and that it is not just enough to create the experience, but also to polish it and deliver it the right way to concerned parties and player bases. There are various aspects related to the process of handing a game from the developer’s studio until it reaches the hands of the players, and the new publishing label aims to grab each developer’s hands from the start of this complex process until they are able to release the games they want.
The Crypt of the Necrodancer developer doesn’t intend to publish many games, but they intend to fully love and invest in the games they will be handling. They stated that it is very important for them to only publish the games they believe in and teams that they are very proud to work with. For this reason, they are looking for games that are unique, with a touch of replayability and depth. In other words, fun games from currently available market choices but with new hooks and appeal.
The publisher is also not expecting the project to be in its final form; just something playable with a potential vision for the future. Basically, it’s easy to look at their own Crypt of the NecroDancer for inspiration regarding their criteria. The game took an already established setting like the roguelike dungeon exploration genre and added its own rhythmic touch to it. This challenged the players to not only fight monsters but learn their musical dancing patterns and fight them in new ways only present in this specific title.
An application form is already available on the publishing label website where interested developers can apply. The publisher has already stated via Twitter that there are games in the works to be published soon. Brace Yourself Games will also be self-publishing the upcoming sequel (or standalone spinoff) to their iconic rouge-rhythm in the future under the title Rift of the NecroDancer. The game will be available with full English support, and interested fans can currently wishlist the game on Steam.
