Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments on Zinedine Zidane ahead of Man Utd and Atalanta clash
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly recommended Zinedine Zidane to be the next manager of Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has overseen a difficult start to the campaign, with the club winning just two of their last seven matches across all competitions. And, if the Red Devils lose to Atalanta in the Champions League tonight, the writing could be on the wall for the 48-year-old.
Manchester United need to beat Atalanta tonight.
Should they fail to do that, it will prolong their bad run of form under Solskjaer and also plunge their hopes of making the Champions League knockout stages into uncertainty.
United are adamant they’re behind Solskjaer for the time being, believing he’s the man to bring the glory days back.
But, amid claims that Ronaldo has recommended Zidane to the Glazers as a possible replacement for the 48-year-old, more dropped points could spell disaster.
Express Sport will now take a look at everything Ronaldo has said about Zidane, with a reunion between the pair very much a possibility.

That same year, Ronaldo also hailed Zidane for the work he was doing at Real Madrid after the Frenchman replaced Rafa Benitez.
“Zidane can manage the squad intelligently,” he said.
“At Madrid every player wants to play every game so from a managerial position, it is not easy to delegate all these decisions and make the calls.
“He knows how to handle this with a lot of thought.

Real won the Champions League with both Ronaldo and Zidane in 2017, beating Juventus to lift the trophy.
And the Portugal international said after the game: “I prepared myself for this, you win the biggest prizes because of what you do at the end of the season.
“Zidane gave us a very positive half-time team talk and told us he really believed in us.
“It has been an incredible end to the season by us. We are the first team to win it two years in a row and I scored two goals.
“It’s another record for us and the players deserve it and so do I because I scored twice and I’m the top scorer in the Champions League.”
In 2016
In 2016, after a stunning comeback against Wolfsburg in the Champions League, Ronaldo said he ‘loved’ working with Zidane.
“I love working with Zidane,” he said.
“I love his personality and the way he manages us. I’m very happy.
“Just because I scored three goals today it doesn’t mean it’s my best game. I’m very happy about the goals, but the important thing is the team.
