Cowboys star in hot water over ‘dangerous’ act
Cowboys centre Mia Middleton has found herself in hot water after being sin binned for a dangerous tackle in her side’s loss to the Titans.
The Cowboys struck first through Emma Manzelmann in the seventh minute, but tries to Destiny Mino-Sinapati, Evania Pelite and Zara Canfield gave the Titans a 16-6 win.
To make matters worse for the Cowboys, Middleton could potentially be banned for her tackle on Gold Coast’s Emily Bass.

The incident occurred in the 53rd minute as Bass looked to weave her way through the Cowboys defence. She was picked up by Middleton and driven head first into the turf.
Bass was forced to leave the field in the hands of the trainers shortly after the incident, clutching at her left shoulder, the same one she heard during Origin duties earlier in the year.
“It looked very, very awkward,” Jillaroos great Ruan Sims said on Nine’s NRLW coverage.

“She (Bass) landed straight on the apex of the head and shoulder there.
“It’s not about malice … but if you put a player in a dangerous position like that, the referee has to take steps.
Blackwell’s insane try saver
“That’s 10 in the bin for me. Puts her in a real dangerous position,” Cowboys great Johnathan Thurston added.
The scoreboard would’ve looked even worse for the Cowboys if not for an incredible trysaving tackle from Krystal Blackwell.
Titans star Taliah Fuimaono did the majority of the work, dodging past multiple defenders during a huge run before handing it off to Mino-Sinapati, who looked destined to score until a last-ditch effort from Blackwell knocked the ball out of her grasp before she could ground it.
Fuimaono, though, limped off the field with an ankle injury during the game.
The Titans will face their cross-town rival Broncos in round two, while the Cowboys will face the Knights.
