Lucknow: Amid a spike in COVID cases, the Lucknow administration has issued fresh guidelines for schools, colleges, offices, hospitals, marriage halls, and other public places. The administration has made the use of masks mandatory in schools, colleges, and offices.
In a press release, the Lucknow administration has asked schools, colleges, and offices to maintain proper hygiene and follow COVID-appropriate behaviour. Children, students and teachers in schools/colleges are directed to wear masks and follow social distancing. Also, students should be seated within the classroom with sufficient distance between them.
The administration has also announced a ban on the entry of people without masks. Those with symptoms of cold, fever, or flu are directed to remain quarantined at home and get themselves tested. The press release also mentions that schools, colleges, offices, and other public places should install thermal screening at entrances, doors, railings, lifts, parking areas, etc.
The colleges are direct to ensure proper sanitization on the campus. Doors, railings, swings, etc. should be sanitized from time to time. The administration has also advised the parents not to send their children to school/college if they are suffering from cold, fever, cough, etc.
The guidelines are also issued for public places like cinema halls/malls, railway stations, bus stations, and airports. Thermal scanning should be ensured at the entrances of all these places and the use of masks has been made mandatory at these places.
Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar said medical kits should be made available to symptomatic patients, and daily feedback of home isolation patients should be taken by calling them through the command centre.
So far, there are 1,791 active COVID cases in Uttar Pradesh with a positivity rate of 0.65 per cent, he said.
