Counter-Strike 2: Valve Issues Clarification About Method CS:GO Fans Are Using to Try to Get Access to CS2 Limited Test
CS:GO players around the world have been trying their hardest to gain access to the elusive Limited Test for the upcoming Counter-Strike 2. But how does one get it?
Requirements for players wanting to join Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test
Following the release of the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, Valve had issued guidelines on the requirements that it had for players selected for the Limited Test. “Players are selected based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing,” said Valve.
PSA: Idling on official matchmaking servers in CS:GO does not increase your chances of making into the CS2 Limited Test. The playtime that counts was your playtime prior to the start of the Limited Test.

Idling on matchmaking servers won’t help, says Valve
As mentioned in the statement, long playtime hours on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive servers will help increase a player’s chance to get access to the Limited Test. This has caused several players to log a massive number of hours on the game by remaining idle on CS: GO’s matchmaking servers.
However, Valve has now come out by stating that the method won’t work, as the devs have been using playtime hours prior to the start of the CS2 Limited Test for its invites. Players were visibly unhappy about this decision, as many had spent hours on game modes that they didn’t enjoy, to get that all-important invite from Valve.
In the end, it seems like the only course of action for CS: GO players without the Limited Test invite is to wait and pray.
