Costa reveals Christmas menu for 2022 - and there's a Toblerone hot chocolate

It’s coming up to that time of year, when Mariah Carey’s whistle note comes out of hibernation and toy shops turn into present-buying battlegrounds.

The run-up to Christmas also means supermarkets begin to stock up on festive goodies, and coffee shops say goodbye to pumpkin spice lattes in favour of yuletide specialities.

Costa has just released its Christmas food and drinks menu for 2022, with a host of seasonal favourites alongside exciting new additions to get you in the spirit.

For the first time, the chain has teamed up with Toblerone to showcase two brand new festive drinks.

The Latte inspired by Toblerone and Hot Chocolate inspired by Toblerone feature chocolate and honey-flavour sauces for that iconic Swiss taste. Both drinks are topped with a light dairy swirl and festive topper, as well as a mini wrapped Toblerone bar to enjoy on the side.

If you’re looking for an extra sweet treat, you can get a Toblerone-inspired Chocolate Muffin at Costa this Christmas too. Find milk chocolate chunks and chopped almonds throughout the cake, a velvety chocolate sauce filling, and a tiny bar of Toblerone.

Fans of Costa Coffee’s Gingerbread and Cream Latte and Terry’s Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate will be pleased to know they’re returning to the Christmas line-up, as is the Terry’s Chocolate Orange Muffin that’s proven popular over the years.

Other new bakes added to the menu include a Loaded Chocolate and Hazelnut Cake, a White Chocolate Trillionaire’s Slice, a Crispy Festive Wreath, a Christmas Tree Shortcake biscuit, and a Santa Gingerbread Biscuit.

Prefer something fruitier? The new Raspberry Trifle Loaf Cake and Reindeer Muffin will hit the spot, or the Mince Pie and Gluten-Free Vegan Mince Tart are back too.

As for savoury food, the November 2 launch sees plenty of new creations.

Choose from the new vegetarian Brie and Cranberry Toastie, filled with creamy brie slices and sweet cranberry sauce to complement, or the new Maple Bacon Mac and Cheese with fresh spinach, maple cured bacon, and a parsley crumb.

Vegan P’gs and Blankets make for a delicious plant-based panini (Picture: Costa)

A new Vegan P’gs and Blankets Panini makes its debut this year, packing plant-based sausages and bacon, sage and onion stuffing, sweet cranberry sauce, vegan mayonnaise, and cheeZe into a stone-baked sourdough panini.

Back by popular demand, there’s also the Turkey and The Trimmings Toastie, Pigs and Blankets Panini, Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Panini, and the Turkey Feast Sandwich.

If that isn’t enough to get your teeth into, Costa’s collaboration with M&S Food means you can buy the supermarket’s seasonal staples with your coffee – including the iconic M&S Turkey Feast Sandwich.

Naomi Matthews, Food and Beverage Commercial Director UK & Ireland at Costa Coffee said: ‘Christmas has always been such a magical time of year at Costa Coffee, and we’re delighted to yet again be able to partner with some well-renowned brands to launch another spectacular beverage and food range, complete with both new items and returning favourites.’

Launching on Wednesday November 2, the range will be available in selected Costa Coffee stores, Drive Thrus or via Click and Collect.

The brand’s instantly-recognisable red Christmas cups are back for the menu change too, adding to the festive excitement of the winter months.
