Corrie Nash? Chazzle Dazzle? The Coronation needs a proper nickname
From the Platty Joobs to the Cossy Livs to the Panny D, Brits love a silly little nickname.
No matter how serious the subject matter, there’s pretty much always an ironically whimsical bit of slang to go with it – it’s just what we do.
But for the coronation of King Charles III, one of the biggest events to take place on UK shores for generations?
Suddenly, we as a society have fallen woefully short of coming to a true nickname consensus.
Well, we here at Metro.co.uk think it’s high time a decision was made, and we want to hear your suggestions ahead of the big weekend.
While there are no hard and fast rules, there’s definitely a trend to follow.
The guidelines for a perfect big event nickname are pretty simple – they’re usually double-barrelled, like the examples above, with the first word often having two syllables and the second just one.
If the first word ends in a cute little ‘ee’ sound, great.
If it makes most of your mates cringe, even better.
That being said it’s mostly all about the vibe.
