Corrie fans reeling over latest killer unmasked as they demand same ending

Corrie viewers were gripped during a week of half-hour-long episodes telling the story of what happened to newlyweds Toyah and Imran Habeeb in the run-up to a shocking car smash. Corrie fans tuned in on Friday night (June 3) to finally find out what had unfolded before Imran tragically lost his life.

Toyah had claimed she couldn’t remember anything before the car she was driving, with Imran in the passenger seat, ploughed into a a building covered by scaffolding. But in the final episode of a dramatic week viewers saw Toyah appear to remember exactly what had happened, and she had deleted an incriminating voicemail from her husband.

Through flashbacks, as Toyah returned to the flat she had shared with Imran, soap watchers saw that her husband had confessed to her during the car journey about framing addict Abi Webster as still using drugs so that the couple could keep baby Alfie. Toyah had previously denied this when questioned by police in hospital.

And when he confessed the truth Toyah, who had for years longed to be a mum, told him coldly: “I hate you Imran. I hate you with all my heart.” The scene then cut to their car speeding into the building without stopping.

After the flashbacks Toyah was shown listening to Imran’s voicemail in which he came clean and said everything he had done was for her. Viewers were left reeling from the revelation that Toyah was a killer.

And fans were calling on Twitter for Abi, who gave birth to Alfie after a one-night-stand with Imran last September, to get her son back so she can have a happy ending with her husband Kevin. @RyanGSoapKing11 wrote: “Toyah needs to get arrested for what she has done. She deserves everything that comes to her. I want Abi to get custody of Alfie even more now.”

@griannedoherty2 tweeted: “‘I’m not on my own, Alfie needs me.’ No he needs his actual mum Toyah and that’s Abi NOT you sadly.” And @Clawmaw said: “Alfie would be much better with Abi and Kevin now. Not with Toyah.”

@mishybabez_wrote: “I hope Abi gets custody of Alfie.” And @MeeshyJay said: “Toyah literally killed Imran for a baby who isn’t even hers. I hope she gets caught and exposed and it doesn’t drag on till Xmas.” @Charlotte_K13 gasped: “OMG so Toyah essentially killed Imran?!” And @topgooner100 tweeted: “Toyah the new Street serial killer.”

But @LynnBraben fumed: “Beyond gutted that it looks like Abi is going to get Alfie. The woman neglected her other three children, but now she acts like she’s some sort of earth mother. She abandoned him x2 after giving birth, AND continued to drink. No way is she fit to look after him!”
