Coronation viewers mock ITV hosts ‘Trying to spot Holly and Phil’

Another quipped: “#HollyWilloughby and #phillipschofield jumped the queue last night to get into Westminster Abbey #KingCharlesCoronation #Coronation2023.”

A third mocked: “Charles just got in his Royal Gold Carriage and found Phillip Schofield & Holly Willoughby in there… #Coronation.”

“Can’t wait to see Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the balcony,” a fourth tweeted.

Another quizzed: “Have Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby been given their own thrones during the Coronation?”

A sixth jibed: “Phillip Schofield & Holly Willoughby haven’t arrived yet,” adding a picture of two empty thrones in Westminster Abbey.

Even a Sky News presenter got in on the action, as she told viewers: “I feel really bad I jumped the queue but it was all for journalistic purposes,” while waiting on The Mall ahead of King Charles taking to the balcony.

A seventh commentator wrote: “@SkyNews #HollyWilloughby and Phil not to be seen could they, no skip the queue a 2nd time.”(sic)

Back in September, the two presenters faced growing criticism after being spotted skipping the queue to Queen Elizabeth II’s lying-in-state.

Some mourners queued for up to 20 hours to see the Monarch in a touching public show or mourning for Her Majesty.

But Holly and Phil were bashed online after seen entering through a “VIP entrance” whilst other big names such as David Beckham and fellow TV presenter Susanna Reid waited in line with the general public to pay their respects.

Meanwhile, Holly took to Instagram today and paid her respects to the newly crowned king and queen with a homemade cake.

Sharing a photo of His Majesty the King, she wrote: “Congratulations to our King and Queen…”
