Conor McGregor accused of sexually assaulting woman at NBA Finals game in Miami

Conor McGregor has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the NBA Finals this month. The Irish MMA fighter was recently spotted at Game 4 between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat where he hospitalised a mascot during a promotional stunt.

The 34-year-old denies the allegations put towards him. TMZ claim a demand letter, authored by attorney Ariel Mitchell, has been sent to McGregor as well as the NBA and Miami Heat.

A rep for McGregor responded to the accusations with a statement which claims the “allegations are false.” It goes on to add that the former UFC champion “will not be intimidated” by the allegations.

The alleged attack was subsequently reported to the local authorities.

McGregor recently came under further scrutiny during Miami Heat’s NBA finals match against the Denver Nuggets. The former UFC champion appeared during a break to promote his new cryotherapy pain relief spray TIDL.

During the stunt the Heat’s mascot ‘Burnie’ wore a pair of boxing gloves ahead of a pretend fight. McGregor however landed two punches before spraying the mascot with the product in question.

It has since been revealed that the person inside of the mascot suit was taken to the emergency room following the incident. The promotional stunt has since gone viral across social media.

McGregor’s last professional UFC bout came in a Lightweight Championship fight against Dustin Poirier. The fight was a rematch of the pair’s UFC 257 clash in which the American won to give McGregor his first career defeat.

The Irishman subsequently also lost the most recent fight in 2021 after suffering a broken tibia. The injury forced him to take an extended break from fighting.

McGregor’s latest venture sees him take part in The Ultimate Fighter 31. The show will see the 34-year-old take on Michael Chandler in a coaching role before the pair face eachother in the octagon.

In a statement, the UFC have said: “The organization is aware of the recent allegations regarding Conor McGregor & will continue to gather additional details regarding the incident. UFC will allow the legal process to play out before making any additional statements.”

The Miami Heat also posted a statement which read: “We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, we will withhold no further comment.”
