Clever iPhone hack automatically texts you when your kids are home safe

A TIKTOKER has revealed an ingenious trick that makes it easier to know if the kids have made it home safely.

We all do it, forget to text a loved one to let them know we’ve got through the front door just fine – and children are especially bad at remembering to put our minds at ease.

But thankfully there’s an easy way on the iPhone that can do it for them every single time.

Plus it’s not just for kids, it can be applied to any forgetful person who wants to reassure loved ones without having to do anything.

TikTok star Katarina Mogus showed her 2.4million followers how it’s done – and it’s really very easy.

All you have to do is find the Shortcuts app.

From there, go to the Automation section and tap the + button.

On the next screen, choose Create Personal Automation, followed by Arrive.

Tap Location and enter your address, tapping Done when finished.

Now tap Next at the top right and select Send Message.

Here you can type your message that will send out every time you get home – example ‘Hi, I’m home!’ – and choose who you want to receive it by tapping Recipients.

Finally, click Next and Done.

Now whenever the kids are home their phone can send you a text automatically.

Making sure they don’t switch it off is another problem though…

As one commenter highlighted: “Imagine sneaking out and forgetting to turning it off and you come back home. (sic)”
