Classic Ford Escort in ‘time warp’ condition on sale for eye-watering price
A CLASSIC 90s fast Ford is up for sale – but it comes with an eye-watering price.
The 1996 Ford Escort Cosworth Lux is just one of just over 100 of the classic motor produced.
The coveted vehicle has clocked up a meagre 16,000 miles and will be up for grabs for whoever coughs up the jaw-dropping £89,995 asking fee.
This example boasts a squeaky-clean cabin, black brake callipers in similarly optimal condition, as well as an “excellent panel fit and finish”.
Initially designed to to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship between 1993 and 1998, the ‘rally’ version of the Ford Escort was made available to the public in limited numbers.
Car and Classic, self-styled ‘The World’s Largest Classic Marketplace’, say the car “has been used sparingly with a mere 16k miles covered and presents in superb condition.”

A rare top-of-the-range 1972 Ford Capri with the original air conditioning is on sale for bank-breaking price.
Speaking of breaking the bank, a gangster’s Rolls Royce Ghost worth £100,000 is going under the hammer.
Elsewhere, a rare “immaculate” Ford Sierra left in a garage for 20 years is up for auction after a £9,000 revamp.
And a stunning collection of Porsches is going under the hammer and set to make a fortune.
