Claire Danes has welcomed her third child with husband Hugh Dancy, it has been claimed.

The Homeland star, 43, and the Hannibal actor, 48, confirmed their baby news in January, revealing they were set to expand their brood once more.

A rep for the couple told People Magazine that they have now introduced a baby girl.

They have yet to publicly share a name or any details of the birth, and have not posted pictures of their newborn daughter on social media.

Claire first met Hugh on the set of their film Evening, in 2006, and they announced their engagement three years later.

The couple went on to tie the knot in a private ceremony in France in 2009 and welcomed their son Cyrus in 2012.

In 2018, they added to their brood once again with son Rowan, before the Romeo & Juliet actress shared the news of her third pregnancy in January.

She was all smiles as she hit the red carpet at the Golden Globes shortly after, showing off her bump in a floor-length white embellished gown.

During an appearance on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the Hollywood favorite revealed that her baby news came as a shock.

‘This one was a surprise…,’ she confessed to laughter from the audience. ‘This pregnancy happened to me. But we’re thrilled.’

When asked how her children responded to the news of their sibling, Claire continued: ‘Cyrus was resigned to it. The worst has already happened, his name is Rowan.

‘Rowan has more to lose, he has more at stake. He was categorically opposed to the idea. He said, “No, I don’t like it. I don’t like it. I like peace, mamma.”’

‘I was like, “You like peace? That’s rich.” That dude does not shut up.’

The new mom recently made headlines as she opened up about her upcoming project, Full Circle, which is set to premiere on HBO Max on July 13.

She took on the role of Sam in the drama, alongside Zazie Beetz, Dennis Quaid and Timothy Olyphant – with the series following an investigation into a botched kidnapping which ‘uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters and cultures in present day New York.’

Luckily for Claire, much of it was filmed very close to her home, but she admitted that one particular shoot ended up being a terrifying experience.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk at the premiere, she told us: ‘I grew up in New York, blocks away from where I live now.

‘Our campers were parked literally across the street from my home for weeks at a time. So that was very convenient, in terms of the commute!

‘We did have to film in Washington Square Park at night, and I am deeply phobic of rats.

‘I won’t even walk like around the perimeter of the park after 5pm, and so to have to be in the center of it at 3am, it was really like exposure therapy or something. It was very challenging.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Claire Danes’ reps for a comment.
