You know the festive season is officially under way when Mariah Carey hits the promo trail.

The All I Want For Christmas superstar sleighed in the style stakes while stepping out in New York.

Slipping into a super-clingy black dress with a cheeky side split, Mimi completed her look with sunglasses and bling earrings.

Earlier this month, the 52-year-old failed in her attempt to trademark the moniker ‘Queen of Christmas’.

But that didn’t seem to have throne her off her stride as she flashed a smile on her way to a taping of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The pop legend is blessed with a five-octave vocal range – but she may have met her match after scientists found bats can hit a whopping seven.
