Chrissy Hynde’s ‘ageless’ appearance distracts Glastonbury fans

The Pretenders performed at this year’s Glastonbury leaving fans in shock at just how amazing Chrissy Hynde looks for her age.

The four-piece rock group was originally formed in 1978 and consisted of Chrissie Hynde and bassist Pete Farndon.

Although the band has experienced some changes in the line-up, the original member Chrissy is still performing today at the age of 71.

Taking to the Park stage the band went through their back catalogue of hits.

Chrissy however, was the star of the show as she looked effortlessly rock chic with a band tee-shirt, denim jeans, and over-the-knee black boots.

Fans took to Twitter in their droves to share their excitement and to comment on Chrissie’s appearance.

@Sam_Knight18 wrote “Chrissie Hynde is 71. Still rocking it live. What a woman #glastonbury2023”

Whilst @LenaWhitaker1 said: “Chrissie Hynde has still got it! #ThePretenders #glastonbury2023”

And perhaps one of the biggest compliments came from @iplantsman who tweeted, “Watching #glastonbury2023 on tv and 71-year-old Chrissie Hynde is as brilliant as ever she was! Sounds great. Total bad***. Love the @ThePretendersH. So good to hear performances of acts that have been around for a long time that still sound amazing!”

Fans were also amazed at how youthful she sounded with @mister_blu_sky saying: “Chrissie Hynde is 71 and still sounds like she did in the 1970s what a voice #glastonbury #glastonbury2023”

@loueezecee wrote: “Chrissie Hynde hasn’t lost it either #glastonbury2023”

While @Lijoh1 echoed: “Chrissie Hynde still rocking it out at 71. Recognise that vocal anywhere #thepretenders #glastonbury2023 #Glastonbury”

But the surprises didn’t stop there as Chrissy also brought on stage The Smiths’ musician Johnny Marr who had a brief spell with the pretenders in the 1980s.

Before introducing the music legend to the stage, Chrissy said: “Glastonbury has so many memories but my favourite is seeing my guitar heroes.”

She named the band’s guitarist James Walbourne as one of them before mentioning Marr as the other.

They then performed two of their classic hits, Don’t Get Me Wrong and Back On The Chain Gang.

As if the crowd thought the surprises were done, they then brought on Foo Fighters’ and Glasto regular Dave Grohl to end their performance.

Just before he joined them on stage, Chrissy once again addressed the audience saying “Apparently, there’s a drummer kicking around backstage” sending the crowd absolutely wild.

To end the set, Chrissy left the stage after singing Hymn To Her only to be greeted by Paul McCartney who was waiting in the wings for her. After some encouragement from the crowd, the Beatles star joined Chrissy on stage and waved to an already hyped-up crowd.
