Chris Sutton believes England can exploit two weaknesses within the France team when the two teams face off in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Didier Deschamps’ side are favourites to progress to the last-four in Doha, given their status as World Champions.

Added to that, the French have arguably the world’s greatest player in Kylian Mbappe and greater experience throughout the side.

Much of the build-up to the game has been centred on how England will deal with Mbappe.

But Sutton believes there are two key weaknesses that England can exploit when they take on the French.

The first is Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who has had a mixed tournament despite France’s tag as favourites.

The second is the work-rate of the attacking trio that play behind Olivier Giroud, which Sutton feels the English can use to their advantage when they regain possession.

‘France haven’t kept a clean sheet at this World Cup,’ Sutton told the Daily Mail.

‘Though they’re a team packed with talented players, I’m still not convinced by Hugo Lloris in goal.

‘Another concern is, out of possession, Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele aren’t the hardest workers when it comes to tracking back.’
