Choice filling begins for engg degree admissions – Times of India
The mock round of choice filling for diploma holders to get admissions in engineering degree courses has started from Monday. The Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses (ACPDC) while announcing the provisional merit list said that the choice filling round was to begin from August 23 Tuesday however, as most of the verification of documents was complete the choice filling was started from Monday.
A statement from the admission committee said that a total 14,265 students had registered themselves of which 10,150 students have been selected in the provisional merit list. The choice filling will end on August 28 and the results of choice filling will be announced on September 1.
There are a total 40,442 seats available for engineering degree courses in the state which includes 4,403 seats in government and grant-in-aid colleges and 36,039 seats in private colleges.
Sources said that the students who have not been selected include those who have been allowed to keep term (ATKT) or are from older batches. The admission committee has advised students to opt for multiple colleges to ensure that they get admitted.
Sources said that it is likely that around 30,000 seats will remain vacant even if all the students who have been selected in the provisional list are admitted.
