Wesley Fofana headed straight down the tunnel after the full-time whistle as Leicester were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw with Brentford at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes were flying in their Premier League opener against the Bees when Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put them two goals in front before second-half strikes from Ivan Toney and Josh DaSilva saw Thomas Frank’s side snatch a precious point in the East Midlands.
The late capitulation adds to the growing frustration at the club with Leicester still yet to make a summer signing and they’re the only side in Europe’s top-five leagues yet to flex their muscle in the market. Manager Brendan Rodgers has already warned supporters the situation is unlikely to change, either.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are continuing to probe for Fofana and his actions at the full-time whistle were telling as he headed straight down the tunnel, back to the changing rooms without even acknowledging the home supporters.
The Blues have already seen two offers – the latest understood be worth a whopping £70m – rebuffed by the Foxes, who continue to insist their defender is not for sale.
But Fofana’s head is clearly elsewhere as he continues to wait patiently for Chelsea to strike a deal with Leicester.

The Northern Irishman said on Friday: “There’s been an offer to the club, but nowhere near the valuation of our ownership. We didn’t even think about it.
“The club know the value of what they have, and any player that leaves here, they will always want the top valuation on that player. That’s only natural, but historically, Leicester have done that very well.”
Rodgers is believed to have spoken with both Fofana and James Maddison, who has attracted interest from Newcastle, to relay that they won’t be leaving the club before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea are not prepared to give up on signing their top target though, even if it takes a world-record fee for a defender.
It’s believed an offer worth £80m could potentially swing the balance with Fofana keen to make the move to west London to bolster his chances of making France’s World Cup squad.
Fofana refused to be drawn on his future during a recent interview with The Telegraph, suggesting he will remain committed to the Leicester project.
He said: “Leicester is a family and I have felt that from the first day. I have always felt like a native of Leicester.
“It’s a big club and an institution but everyone has time for each other and understands. We are all brothers, sisters and cousins.”

He said: “If you read into body language, which many do, Wesley Fofana’s head isn’t what it was in May. His strolling about and ‘don’t care’ attitude has been clear, especially this second half. He’s off I reckon.”
