There are also family-friendly rides for younger kids, like the tea cups, bumper cars and Rumba Rapids, a white water raft ride down Thorpe Park Resort’s churning waterway.

A lesser-known adventure at Thorpe Park comes after the park closes and all rides come to a halt.

You can take a VIP Coaster Climb of The Swarm (available at an extra cost), where you’ll be guided up the rollercoaster’s 180 steps – strapped into a harness, of course.

If you’re looking to only spend a day at the park, tickets cost from £37pp online (saving £22 when you book in advance), and under 3s go free.

For overnight stays instead, there are deals from £56pp in September, including two-day park tickets, free breakfast, free wifi and free parking.
