Visiting the Greek Islands in May is the perfect sweet spot before the peak season, so you’ll be able to explore the local areas without too many tourists wandering around or the weather being too warm.

Don’t be put off by the low star rating on some properties, as this is very common in Greece – the hotels featured have been given a four or above TripAdvisor rating. 

All prices are based on two adults travelling together and sharing accommodation for seven nights.

The cheapest deals come from Thomas Cook with week-long stays at the Cretan Sun in Rethimno, Crete from £157 per person on a self-catering basis. Departing May 16 from Manchester.

Alternatively, for another option in Crete, seven nights at the Paradalak Studios cost from £178pp on a room only basis, departing on May 12 from Manchester.

If you’d rather go for an all-inclusive option, seven nights at the Triton Garden in Crete cost from £257 per person, departing from Luton on June 15 with On the Beach.
