Chainsaw Man Anime’s English Dub Release Date Revealed

Crunchyroll has announced that the English dub of the Chainsaw Man anime will premiere on October 25.

One of the most anticipated anime of 2022 — about a teenage devil hunter who’s brought back from the dead with chainsaws for hands — will be available on the premiere date at 12:30 PM Pacific / 3:30 PM Eastern / 8:30 PM UK (so 5:30 AM on October 26 AEST).

Chainsaw Man’s English dub is being led by Attack on Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood’s Mike McFarland and features a voice cast from similarly prominent anime.

Protagonist Denji is played by Ryan Colt Levy (My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission), Makima is played by Suzie Yeung (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Aki by Reagan Murdock (Dragon Ball Super), Pochita by Lindsay Seidel (Attack on Titan), and Power by Sarah Wiedenheft (Black Clover).

Further cast members will be announced soon, Crunchyroll said, presumably within the next few days seeing the anime’s premiere is just one week away.

Chainsaw Man already debuted on the service in its original Japanese with subtitles on October 11, with the first two episodes currently available. The remaining ten episodes will be made available every Tuesday, with the English dub following suit with episodes dropping each week going forward.

Promised by Crunchyroll’s chief content officer Asa Suehira to include “dark humour, dynamic characters and a sharp story”, Chainsaw Man will also be as violent and gory as any anime about a chainsaw man could be.

In our 9/10 of the first episode (in Japanese), IGN said: “The Chainsaw Man premiere more than lives up to the manga’s hype with some stunning and brutal action, gallows humour, an incredibly bleak story, and an endearing protagonist.”

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer. He’ll talk about The Witcher all day.
