CBSE 12th Maths Exam Analysis 2023: Some students upset with Case Studies & Integration, others find it moderate – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education successfully conducted the Class 12 Maths exam 2023 today, March 11, 2023. Students who appeared for the CBSE 12th Mathematics exam have now come out of the exam centres. In this article, you will find how was the overall CBSE 12th Maths exam of this year along with students’ and teachers’ reactions to the same.
The Mathematics paper was conducted for the duration of 3 hours from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The CBSE board examinations are being conducted at more than 7250 exam centres across the country and 26 centres abroad.
The question paper was divided into five sections i.e., Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D, and Section E. In total, the CBSE Class 12 Maths question paper 2023 contained 80 marks and there were 38 questions and all of them were compulsory for students to attempt.
Section A – It comprised 20 MCQ questions of 1 mark each.
Section B – It comprised 5 very short answer questions of 2 marks each.
Section C – It comprised 6 short answer questions of 3 marks each.
Section D – It comprised 4 long answer questions of 5 marks each.
Section E – It comprised 3 case-based questions of 4 marks each.
CBSE Class 12 Maths Paper Analysis
CBSE Class 12th Maths paper analysis as per the preliminary reports, the CBSE Class 12 Maths exam was moderately difficult. Long questions were asked directly from the NCERT textbooks.
Students are giving mixed reactions about the Maths paper. For Science students, it was a moderate paper while for commerce students, it was a bit difficult (especially case studies and integration) and for Applied Maths students it was an unexpected and hard paper.
The CBSE Mathematics (041) Class 12 exam paper according to Shivam Anand, a Class 12th science stream student of Vidya Bharati School, Ghaziabad, the Maths exam was an average paper. The questions ranged between simple to little tricky but were mostly direct and simple.
Rahul Kargeti, another student of VBS reviewed the paper as an average paper and added that MCQ based questions took most of his time.
However, Krishnanshu Varshney and Prakshi reviewed it as a paper that required a thorough understanding of the concept but all the same commented that questions were easy but MCQ part was bit tricky.
Senior Maths teacher Mr. Rajneesh Garg and HOD Mar BP singh commented paper as an average paper which demanded knowledge and mind application both.
A PGT Maths of a Gurugram school says nothing was out of syllabus. It was fairly a moderate paper.
