Cavinder twins tease WWE future on ‘Smackdown’: ‘The next tag team’

The Cavinder Twins stole the spotlight at WWE “Smackdown” on Friday night.

Haley and Hanna Cavinder — the former University of Miami basketball players, who signed NIL deals with the WWE in 2021 — were special guests at the show in Orlando, where the crowd went wild when the sisters were introduced on the broadcast.

Haley also joked that WWE legend, Triple H, who currently serves as the chief content officer for the organization, is their “triplet” in a post on Instagram — which included photos of the 22-year-old twins holding tag team belts.

In a series of videos on TikTok, Haley and Hanna trolled critics that compared them to former tag team champions, the Bella Twins.

In response to one TikTok user that commented with: “Real ones know about the Bella Twins,” Haley and Hanna shared a video of them waving to the camera at “Smackdown.”

They added in their caption: “Us whenever someone says we are going to the next Bella Twins.”

Haley and Hanna are tight with the former WWE superstars, Nikki and Brie Garcia, who were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.

In fact, the Bella twins “passed the torch” to the Cavinder sisters when the foursome attended the 2023 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles on July 12.

The Bella twins, who joined the WWE in 2008, played a large role in the women’s revolution in the sports and entertainment giant.

In other videos from their visit to “Smackdown,” Haley and Hanna practiced their WWE entrance and performed skits in the ring while the arena was empty.

“From playing D1 basketball together to being the next tag team,” they wrote over one clip.

“Us on our way to be the next twin tag team in the WWE,” they added over another video.

Haley and Hanna — who have 4.5 million followers on TikTok — became two of the top NIL earners while at the University of Miami.

In July 2022, Forbes reported the Cavinder twins were nearing $2 million in NIL deals.

Haley and Hanna, who graduated from the University of Miami in May, signed WWE “Next In Line” deals in 2021 and made their TV debut on the June 6 episode of WWE NXT.

WWE “Next In Line” deals “provide a clear pathway from collegiate athletics to WWE,” the company announced.

Haley told USA Today Sports that she and her sister recently visited the WWE performance center, which is located in Orlando, to learn more about the company and participate in some training.

“It’s a lot of work,” Haley said. “They’re in there all the time, training and trying to get their bodies right. It’s really cool to dive deep into that and see that.”

The Cavinder twins recently moved to Fort Lauderdale and showed off their new “dream” apartment in a video on social media.
