Catriona Gray belied the false information shared by Facebook page Pinoy History, which claimed that she would be starring in a film about Jose Rizal, and which called the beauty queen “Catriona Gray-Milby,” using the surname of her fiancé, Sam Milby.

The said page stated in a Facebook post last Thursday, Feb. 16, that the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder would be playing the role of Josephine Bracken in the supposed film entitled “Papaano kung ‘di namatay si Jose Rizal?”.

It further claimed that the movie’s cast would include Dingdong Dantes, Jean Garcia, Snooky Serna as well as Sandy Andolong, and that the film would be GMA’s entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Grabe naman this page, [laging] fake news peddler. Wala akong part [sa] movie na ‘to,” Gray said via the comments section. “Name ko po, Catriona Gray — hindi pa ako married. Kaloka.”

(This page is too much, it has always been a fake news peddler. I am not part of this movie. My name is Catriona Gray — I am not yet married. This is crazy.)

Fans then chimed in, saying they were also surprised upon seeing Gray’s name with her fiancé’s surname. Nevertheless, the netizens expressed support for the newly engaged couple.
