Former Miss Universe Catriona Gray once again threw her support behind a holistic approach to health care and the Smile Trains program that offers comprehensive cleft care.

Gray, in her Instagram post on Sunday, excitedly announced Love Yourself Philippines’ newest community center, Balay Marvi, which just opened in Baguio City.

“Balay Marvi offers holistic care: education, testing, prevention, and treatment, support and care. As well as playing an integral part in strengthening the region’s capacities in providing sexual health services,” said Gray.

The center also offered for free PrEP or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, a pill taken daily by an HIV-negative person to maintain his/her status and be protected against HIV.

Gray enjoined everyone to visit the center located at Lopez Building A Rm 303, Session Road (in between St Joseph Pharmacy and East West bank.) from Wednesday to Sunday, 12 noon to 7pm except holidays, while supporters may book an appointment online via bit.ly/lybooking.

She also announced Smile Trains’ project which helps children with cleft lip or palette Saturday, October 8, on her Instagram account. She posted two photos, one kid with successful operation and one baby cleft problem.0

“Today is WORLD SMILE DAY! Did you know, every 3 minutes a child is born with cleft?” Gray informed her followers.

Gray said that children with cleft problems need help as “a cleft lip or palette can pose several challenges to health: difficulty with eating or breathing, hinder speech and especially affect an individuals confidence.”

An organization called Smile Train is most helpful to these children as it “offers FREE comprehensive cleft care (from initial consultations, to operations, t orthodontics and speech therapy),” she said.

Smile Train, according to Gray, is working in over 90+ countries all over the world and interested parties can visit smiletrain.org.

Gray also claimed that “every single child deserves to feel confident to smile and deserves even more so, to live a happy healthy life.”

With this, she is encouraging everyone with cleft lip and cleft palate to reach Smile Train and partner hospitals/clinics. One can refer patients https://www.smiletrain.ph/get-help @smiletrainph. EDV
