Carson Wentz stats: How Colts QB corrected his turnover problem so far in 2021
In his first year as a Colt, quarterback Carson Wentz has continuously shown improvements on things he struggled with in previous years.
For one, in 2020 with the Eagles, Wentz tied for the most interceptions of the season with Broncos quarterback Drew Lock. They both had 15 interceptions. Wentz also was sacked 50 times and had six fumbles. Wentz’s 50 sacks was the most in the NFL last year.
This year Wentz has changed his own storyline. Through six weeks, he only has three tunrovers — an interception in Week 2 against the Rams and two fumbles.
No player threw more interceptions than Carson Wentz last year, as he had 15 in just 12 games.
This season, Wentz has thrown the fewest interceptions of any QB that has played every game for his team this season (just 1).
Much improved early on in Indy.

MORE: Why the Colts acquired Carson Wentz after disastrous 2020 campaign
Because of the numbers he put up with the Eagles last year, Colts fans were hesitant to welcome Wentz on board. The Colts finished the 2020 season with an 11-5 record. They played in the AFC Wild Card, losing to the Bills 27-24. The Eagles only had a 4-11-1 record and finished last in the NFC East.
So, when Philip Rivers retired after the 2020 season, the Colts became interested in Wentz. Through six weeks so far, Wentz has continued to show improvement with the Colts.
