Car owner spends whopping £10,000 to make his Nissan Micra look like a DOG
THIS car’s owner has no trouble getting a barking spot — as he’s made it look like a dog.
Leigh Waterfield, 54, spent £10,000 turning his Nissan Micra into his dream pawtomobile.
The retired car dealer said he wanted to cheer people up after a ruff year.
He told The Sun: “I love dogs and I just wanted to brighten someone’s day.
“After the year we’ve all had I decided to give the Micra a go and I’ve not looked back.
“Customising it was quite a job as we had to basically put a new skin on the car, but it was well worth it.
“If I’m out in it and pass someone it always brings a smile to their face and makes them giggle.”
He layered the manual’s best friend with AstroTurf while the tongue is made of fibreglass and the nose is plastic.
It also has a waggy tail, a bone on the roof and a personalised plate — LW11 DOG.
Leigh, from Plymouth, is often asked while out and about if he is a fan of 1994 movie Dumb & Dumber, which featured a dog-like van.
But he said: “I’ll be honest, I’ve only seen the film once. I’d say this car is definitely better in every way.”
He can even make it bark with the touch of a button, though there is one wee problem.
He added: “The only issue is if another dog comes up to the car they’ll mistake it for being a canine and suddenly cock their leg at the wheel.
“But it’s nice to have something a bit different and it’s certainly a car that stands out.”
