Former SAS star Candice Warner has stepped out in a “stunning” Melbourne Cup outfit – but she’s not the only star rocking this look.
After being unable to hit the racecourse last year, Australian stars are going all out for the race that stops the nation this afternoon.
And while the race may still be hours away, it already seems there’s a style proving popular among the star studded guests.
Candice Warner, who is celebrating the Lexus Melbourne Cup from Sydney this year, has stepped out in a one shoulder dress in the striking red hues of the event.
The figure-hugging gown features a frill feature on the right shoulder and has been paired with a matching oversized hat.

The former ironwoman posed in the figure-hugging gown while clutching a bottle of G.H Mumm champagne, a sponsor of the prestigious event. She’s not the only famous face who has gone for a one shoulder dress in that shade of red, with Studio 10 host Sarah Harris taking to air in a stunning gown that is very similar.
“Sarah that red on you is spectacular,” one commented.
“I love that red dress on you Sarah,” another agreed.
Michelle Payne, the first and only female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup back in 2015, has arrived as part of her official duties as a Victoria Racing Club (VRC) ambassador.
The racing royalty has opted for a bold, emerald green halter-neck dress with a glimpse of sideboob.
Her dress features a statement ruffled hem that she has paired with a unique halo headpiece.
In a bid to stay comfortable, Michelle has opted for a pair of best-selling Lana Wilkinson heels, that Lana told news.com.au were designed to be worn all day at spring racing events without hurting feet.
Earlier in the day, Channel 10’s Kate Freebairn stepped out in a lilac, structured one shoulder dress from Cappellazzo Couture for her Cup Day presenting duties.
She paired her pretty outfit with a matching scrunchie, a unique take on Cup Day headpieces.
Meanwhile model Olivia Molly Rogers has revealed her Melbourne Cup look with a relatable bathroom selfie (we’re all guilty of this).
She’s chosen a red jewelled headband from Colette by Colette Hayman and a golden yellow with an elaborate beaded bow-shaped neckline.
The Melbourne-based model – who recently revealed she’d quit alcohol – also showed off her make-up, revealing a smokey eye look in deeper tones of red while her lipstick was the same bold shade as her headpiece.
