Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have announced they’ve split up after two years of dating.
The pair, who said they’re still great friends, announced the news with joint statements on Instagram.
They both wrote: ‘Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.
‘We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends, so we appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.’
The last snap they shared together was two weeks ago on Shawn’s Instagram, as the pair of them dressed up to celebrate Día De Los Muertos.
After being friends for five years, the pair started dating in July 2019, shortly after they collaborated on their song Senorita.
Camila, 24, and Shawn, 23, also spent lockdown together last year, with the Wonder hitmaker looking back on the experience and saying it brought them closer together.
‘Camila and I were so lucky because we were able to just kind of be in a still moment, and it was the first time in the past six years that we’ve been just able to relax and not work at all,’ he explained.
The singer also shared that the pair ‘were going on bike rides around Miami’ admitting ‘it just felt really beautiful.’
Shawn added that lockdown brought up a lot of ‘nostalgia,’, adding: ‘It really brought us together.’
In July this year, they celebrated their two year anniversary.
Taking to Instagram, Shawn posted a photo of the pair windswept and wearing billowing shirts as they kissed on a beach in the Caribbean, writing: ‘Happy 2 years my baby.’
At the same time, Camila took to her account to share a few photos of their time together, commenting: ‘happy anniversary Kuko, here’s to more joy, more friendship, and more love.’
